Snow in Santa Fe

We headed up to the Santa Fe mountains yesterday to do some hiking. We could see that there was snow on the top so we had to go check it out. It was very beautiful and it was surprisingly warm, 60 and sunny.

Pumpkin Patch

We found a really cool little pumpkin patch and corn maze near our home.This made me very happy because I was not sure that we would have one in NM.

We were in this maze for awhile and Christopher was having fun leading us. When we finally ended up in the pumpkin patch.

After picking our pumpkins we hopped on the wagon for a hay ride.

The kids loved climbing the bails of hay and checking out the baby farm animals.

Gone Fishin'

The kids had Friday off so we so John took the day off and we went fishing. Ok well I chased Brie and Christopher and the rest of them fished.

Happy 9th birthday Alex!

Alex turned nine on Thursday. The kids had the day off so we went to lunch at Chuck E Cheese"s. This is one of Alex's favorite places.

The kids had a great time and we only lost Brie a couple of times so I call it a success.

Alex loved his new scooter from Purple, (His Grandma)!

Presents are always his favorite part. This year he wanted a fishing rod more then anything But how do you wrap a fishing rod so that he doesn't know what it it? Our solution was we made him follow a bunch of different post it's until he found it.

I think that we had a very happy nine year old by the end of the day.

when they talk of the terrible two's I think that they are talking about two small children together.

Well it rained last night and the wind knocked the pool over.

Bad wee ones!

When I told them they would have to come in to change they tried to make a get away.

But lucky for me I can still catch them and this is were they ended up.

And how did that get there?

It is never a good thing when the Doctor say " Well now that doesn't look right!

We took Alex to the doctor because he had been sick and was not getting better. The doctor proceeded to look in Alex's ears to make sure that there was no infection. He looked in the left ear and said that it looked fine and then he looked in the right. He gave a really weird look and said ummm... Now that does not look right. I was surprised because my kids never get ear infection. The doctor then tells us there is some thing stuck in Alex's ear but he is not sure what. after about 20 min of flushing the Dr. finally pulled out the little thing in the pic. Alex said that he has no idea how it got there. What is it with kids and foreign objects, at least in our family.

Up, Up, and Go to school

The Balloon festival is coming up next week in ABQ. For the kick off they launched hot air balloons from all of the local elementary schools.

The kids and I got up early and dressed warmly, then headed to Alex's school.

It was pretty neat to be that close to them and watch them take off. Christopher just stared at them. I am not sure if he was fascinated or still half asleep.
